When the GEN 3 is set on the "Auto" modeand is cycling off and on, it uses an Energy-Saving feature. The unit will run on full power until it gets to within 2 degrees of the desired temperature. At this point, it will automatically go into an energy-saving mode, which shuts down 2 of the heating elements and lowers the fan speed. Not only will this save energy, it also keeps the room temperature closer to the desired temperature. If the room temperature should fall below 2 degrees, the unit will return to the full power mode until the desired temperature is reached again.
This feature creates 2 different power readings from the unit, Full Power and Energy Savings.
